Martin Ralph Chartered Surveyors have seen a significant increase in Party Wall work over the past year.  As developers, builders and general public alike become more aware of the benefits of entering into party wall awards, rather than subsequent and often coslty litigation, the number of enquires have increased.

With three Party Wall surveyors all of who are members of the Pyramus and Thisbe club, the practice are able to give good advice to both building owners and adjoining owners.  Often early advice can prevent complicated disputes and will certainly provide a degree of comfort to both parties as the works progress.

The practice is also seeing an increase in the two parties wanting to appoint an agreed surveyor, that is the surveyor jointly appointed and working for both parties.  This is particularly the case on small domestic work where both neighbours wish to maintain good relations.  By appointing an agreed surveyor fees can be kept to a minimum whilst at the same time ensuring that both parties’ interests are still protected in a professional manner.
