Martin Ralph have recently appointed Olafur Olafson as a new associate to the practice.  An Architect with over 17 year experience, Olaf has acquired a wealth of experience in large scale Architectural projects mainly in education and health in the UK, Middle East, Malta and Africa and Masterplanning work in the UK and Greece.

In addition to his professional experience and strong design skill, Olaf has a solid technical knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D design and production of illustrative material which will also be of great benefit to the Practice.

Projects include acting as Project Architect with Norman + Dawbarn Ltd for a 50.000 sqm Care Centre for the Ministry of Health in Kuwait, a Specialist Oncology unit in Doha, Qatar and initial developments for a large General Hospital in Malta.  Olaf also carried out the design work on a large prestigious office re-development in the centre of Guildford.  

As an Associate with Miller Hughes Associates in Chichester, Olaf was a Project Architect for the strategically important 200 ha. Riverside development at Barking Reach for Bellway Homes.   Olaf lead a team designing two Special Needs Schools for West Sussex County Council and the redevelopments at Fishbourne Roman Palace.  In addition he worked on many residential schemes for Housing Associations in Hampshire and West Sussex.

For the past 3 years, he has been running a successful Design Consultancy focusing on providing quality design and creative support to a variety of clients in the UK and Europe.  This includes “Auf Mont”, a 320 villa residential scheme in Luxembourg, Royal Norfolk Mews, a 13 unit development in Bognor Regis and producing “Vision Documents” and other support material for proposed sustainable village extensions for several developers.
